La fondation Apache vient de créer trois nouveaux projets : James (anciennement sous-projet Jakarta), Cocoon (anciennement sous-projet XML) et Web Services (Axis, SOAP, WSIF, XML-RPC, XML-Security : anciennement sous-projets XML).
